Castle Howard

House, Gardens, Playground, Hospitality & Events

Just 16 miles from us, the grand stately home of Castle Howard is a great place to visit. The Gardens and Skelf Island Adventure Playground are open daily from 10am (9am for Friends of Castle Howard) with last admission at 4pm.The house is open daily from 10am until 3pm. There's also a Farm Shop, Courtyard Cafe and Garden Centre to explore. Castle Howard has often appeared on screen - most recently in Bridgerton, although it is perhaps best known as the main location in Brideshead Revisited.

 

 



Historic Ripon

Again, within just a 30 minute drive from the park, Ripon is another fantastic choice for a day away. Home to the stunning Fountains Abbey (shown here), Ripon Cathedral, Workhouse Museum, and Newby Hall, you are again treated to seeing some of the finest historic sights North Yorkshire has to offer. Ripon is home to some wonderful independent cafes and restaurants to enjoy after a long day of sight-seeing.
